At Balanced Thistle, we want to pair the best of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine with up-to-date, research based Functional Lab Testing. Buuuuut, we get pretty annoyed by Functional Medicine because human beings simply don’t thrive off eating 22 pills for breakfast, 12 for lunch, and 18 for dinner, which is what we’ve seen many patients struggle with in a functional medicine plan. We have a few goals when it comes to adding functional medicine to your care with Balanced Thistle:

1. Food Centric- Targeted and focused nutrition based on lab findings can help us with many deficiencies and comes with reduced risk of side-effects when compared to supplementation.

2. A thorough work-up and tailored plan. To make it easy, we have lab panels designed for your goals, but the recommendations are completely, totally, and ENTIRELY focused on your personal lab results. The phrase “protocol” might send your Balanced Thistle team member into a loony rant… So not our thing. Each patient is unique. Running a lab panel with us includes all the listed labs, our thorough analysis, and completely customized nutritional, herbal, supplemental, and lifestyle recommendations.

3. Multi-faceted. Let’s be honest right away, we’ll be recommending acupuncture. It’s so dang good and can support any and all health goals. Soooo, we priced our lab panels with that commitment in mind (frequency recommendations of acupuncture are different depending on the patient and their goals). Not only can acupuncture itself help with your goals, but touching base in person with our clinical team regularly is incredibly helpful for your commitment as well as your progress and success!
